It looks like today’s storytelling at Millenium Park was a success. I was able to tell two stories and sign my books. Thank you Maria for mediating this opportunity and thank you Cousin Lupita for showing up and providing support.
María López kindly submitted my book to the Millennium Park Foundation’s summer reading list for their Family Festival activities. It was selected and I will be reading/performing the story tomorrow at the Family Festival Tent. Thanks for that great altruistic heart, María!
Getting ready to present tomorrow at the LEND Conference! It provides free professional development to the El Paso region librarians. Check out there website at https://eplend.weebly.com/.
The Tejas Storytelling Conference will be taking place Friday, June 29 through Sunday, July 1 in Fort Worth, Texas. It is hosted by the Tarrant Area Guild of Storytellers (TAGS) at the First Methodist Church. Those of you who will be in that part of Texas during that time might enjoy the family activities. For further information you can go to their website at http://www.tejasstorytelling.com/conference. You can’t ask for better tellers!
I am sorry, but due to another commitment, the monthly storytelling meeting is cancelled for this Saturday, May 19, 2018.

I am happy to announce that my first children’s book has been published. It is available through Amazon. If you purchase the book, you will receive a free e-book. The e-book is also available through Kindle.
I want to thank all the people who helped with this book and gave me their honest opinions and encouragement.
For those of you who choose to purchase my book or e-book, thank you. I hope you enjoy it.
Furthermore, I have provided an excerpt of my next book in the Storytelling Sessions tab of my website.
Last weekend I got to see Texas’ best storyteller perform: Tim Tingle.
He also congratulated me on my performance, so I am feeling accomplished. The festival had great workshops and performers. I came away with additional guidance, skills, tips, and most important, a growing network.
If you are ever in the Dallas area during Spring Break, the Tejas Storytelling Festival usually takes place at that time and family activities are free. You may be surprised to learn you enjoy the storytelling activities.
The next organized event by the Tejas Storytelling Association is on June 29 through July 1, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas featuring Donald Davis and Pippa White. There will be workshops, storytelling concerts, fringe performances, and a cemetery telling. Dare to try it!
This is the ad for the 2018 Tejas Storytelling Festival’s Rising Stars Concert. I will be telling an original tale which I titled, “El Burrito.” I am performing it in honor of Syd Lieberman who mentored me through the development of this story in 2001. He really liked it and I hope those attending the festival in Denton, Texas next weekend will, too.
